History:
Cofounder
and President of Alpha Dog Productions, Inc. Dan Poole has received worldwide
acclaim as the screenwriter, producer, director, editor and stunt choreographer
for his work on the low budget video The Green Goblin's Last Stand as
well as the documentary, The Making of The Green Goblin's Last Stand.
The award winning documentary
sprung to life in an effort to answer all the questions Dan has received over the years about the
1992 video. The "making of" has been shown in countless film festivals and won two NODANCE Film Festival
Awards for Best Documentary &
Golden Orbs Award for Best Guerrilla Marketing.
The Video:
This 50 minute SPIDER-MAN movie has been the subject of
countless favorable reviews by media critics as well as fans for over the years.
Hailed as an incredibly faithful adaptation of the infamous comic book story by
Stan Lee, Amazing Spider-Man #121 & #122 by Gerry Conway and Gil Kane.
Originally conceived as a "DEMO" for then
Spider-Man film director James Cameron, Dan had hoped to get his vision of
Spidey noticed for
the planned big screen feature film. The feature quickly became embroiled
in "who has the right to make a Spider-Man movie" - the legal rights seemed to forever
entangle the web-slinger in lawsuit hell... Eventually Cameron left the project,
leaving the lawyers to sort out the mess. Dan Poole's "labor of
love"
seemed destined to be screened only for family and friends. But the tape soon
took on a life of it's own. Without Dan's knowledge, copies of the video over the years began showing up
at comic book conventions, bootlegged copies were even being sold at internet
auction sites.
As renewed interest in Spidey again surfaced in 1999 with the announcement was made that
the ten plus years of legal webs had been untangled and a feature film would be
made by SONY and cult director Sam Raimi would direct, interest in Dan's film
also resurfaced... And the rest they say his history! |

The
Production |
|
| |
Produced in Baltimore for under
$500 in 1992, and intended as a demo-reel for then Spider-Man director James
Cameron. The Green Goblin's Last Stand soon became much more than just a
demo-reel, one of the many talents
this project exhibits is Dan Poole's ability to get the absolute most out of
available resources. Shot and edited on standard VHS, shooting over a 14 month
span and weeks of editing to bring the climatic showdown of Spider-Man & the
Green Goblin to the screen. |

| "Dan Poole has fulfilled
a life long dream with his production, and this is more of a testament of one
man’s determination to follow that dream and make it a reality. The MAKING OF THE GREEN GOBLIN’S LAST STAND,
stands on it’s own as a well crafted documentary, the added bonus is it’s
got Spidey in it."
